E.I.S. Aircraft GmbH with LiPS at Dubai Airshow
Dahlem, 07. October 2011 - E.I.S. Aircraft GmbH will present its latest cabin separation solution, LiPS - the Light Physical Separation Header - at the Airport Expo Grounds at Dubai Airshow. Under the roof of the Pavilion of the German Aerospace Industries Association in the West Hall exhibition area at stand W335, E.I.S. Aircraft will explain the product's special features and advantages to interested customers and visitors.
LiPS has been developed for KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. A solution had to be found to implement a visual and physical separation into the Economy Class Cabin, without installing a fixed separation unit. Thus, a curtain header structure was attached onto the cabin ceiling, with a semi-transparent fabric spanned across the aisle and centre sections of the cabin. By visually separating Premium Economy from Economy Class, passengers are provided better orientation within the main cabin. KLM has so far successfully installed LiPS on its A330-300, B777-200/-300 und MD-11 fleets. E.I.S. Aircraft engineers abandoned the possibilities of a fixed inflexible separation system in the development and production process, and instead focused on a light and delicate element that would integrate itself visually and physically into the cabin ambience. Production challenges such as the wrinkle-free spanning of the curtain fabric or the design of a header system that would account for the specific technical requirements in the B777 cabin, as well as the customer specifications regarding corporate design were equally considered and met.
